The Setup
It was 1300 hours, we started our journey from Pengkalan Chepa to Melawi. Its a bit far. But the trainer knows a shortcut. Our journey was about 1 hour long. The Kexans went there by two buses. But the logistics went by a Pajero and a Hilux. Two 4-wheel drive cars. The two cars brought some bamboos for some raft activity. A little exciting for the two of the logistics as they mount back of the Hilux and just enjoy the the road. As the picture shown above, the two logistics are taking care of the bamboos, just in case if something falls from the car!
We arrived shortly and safely at Pantai Melawi. The logistics do their job as they place the bamboos and some equipment for the abseiling activity as they arrived. They worked together as a team and got the job done. The other Kexans arrived shortly after they finished setting up.

The Briefing
Once all Kexans have arrived, the president of KEX 15' will lead the Kexans to group up for a little briefing before the camp really started. It was challenging to lead these people as they are all excited for the camp. Once they got excited, they did not pay full attention to the president. But the president did his job to group them up nicely. Once they were ready for briefing, the trainers tell them about the rules and regulation for this camp. They were divided into their own groups. Each groups has its own name and flag. Once the flag has been given, the trainers introduces themselves.
The picture above is some of the trainers that were in this program. They were the ex- Commandos. They teach the Kexans about how to survive and being brave and confident. They teach them how to do abseiling, how to built a raft and much more. There are some more trainers. The others helped the Kexans about being strong, how to think clearly and helped them along the camp.

First Assignment
After the briefing finished. They got their assignments on the spot. There are 3 assignment. First, the Kexans have to design their own flag. They designed the flag according to their team's name. Their flag were design pretty well. Second, they got to make a 5 minutes video. Each team were given different title of video to make. They must be creative and they must submit it before that night. Planning and recording is one thing, but to edit it is one other thing. They have a very limited of time. Third, they have to create their own war cry. Many of them don't know what war cry is. But when the trainers explain about war cry then they got some idea how to do it. All of this assignments need to be present that night. This will test their time management.
The Presentation
After they perform their Maghrib prayers, they were given some time to rest. Then, when everyone is ready, they went into a hall where they need to present their assignment. They need to present about two things only. One, the flag. They need to tell what is the meaning of the design on flag. They need to explain what are the symbol that they put in the flag means.
Second, they need to perform their war cry. Some of it were funny, some were creative and some were both funny and creative. The laughter and the smiles on their faces shows that all that they have done that day really was worth it.
So, that is it only for the first day. It was only the beginning of the camp and it was really fun. Try and join this program and you will know how fun this is. So, that's it. Thanks for reading this blog. Hope you enjoy it!
